Good Vibrations on healing Mother Earth

earth-hands1
Earth Is Calling ~ can you hear Her?? The environmental issues we face causes me great anxiety or agita, as my Italian grandmother used to say. I actively work to focus on the positive things happening around the cleaning up the mess that our ancestors have left in their wake. But, sometimes I get discouraged ~ Really discouraged. Which is why our
conversation with Ellen Gunter was so uplifting!  Ellen’s book

Earth Calling, is a spiritual alarm clock for raising awareness to Earths dire situation right now.

Talking about a solution is so much better for this sensitive soul than focusing on the magnitude of the issues at hand. And shifting our focus is going to be how we will solve, heal and transmute the issues that face us on Earth right now.  Remember that our feelings have an energetic pattern that moves out into the world and we must be conscious of what we send out.

The  Peoples Climate March, over 400,000 people deep, was a positive march to let our government know that we desire change around the environmental practices on our Mother Earth. 400,000! In other words, you are not alone.  There is an awakening taking place and you are part of it.

You do not have to be environmental activist Tim DeChristohper to make a difference.

My dear soul sister, Jillian Kelly, owns the Asheville Bee Charmer to help the bees. This is her way of supporting Mother Earth and raising awareness around the chemical warfare that our Earth is under. Start small, but do start now. Your effort, your vibration, your intentions help awaken the slumbering masses who do not believe that we must act now.

Can you Imagine people working together for the greater good of our Mother Earth and our own humanity like John Lennon did? I can…

GVK gets nutritious

“Food, glorious, food…” is one of my favorite songs from the musical Oliver and I sang it to my kids when they were little and hangin’ with me in the kitchen.

Who doesn’t love yummy, amazing food?

But! what happens when that yummy, amazing food isn’t really good for us or we don’t even know that it’s not good for us? Well, now we get to the meat of why eating can be very emotional. And that is why it was so great having Sheree Druskin and Caren Laboy of The Nutritious Moms to chat with on GVK! Both were educated at the IIN ~ Institute for Ingegrative Nutrition ~ and have taken that education out into the world to wake us up about our food intake.

We talked about alternatives to sugar (coconut sugar ~ who knew!??) and what organic means once it has been shipped around the world. The Nutritious Moms started because their children were getting waaaaay to much sugar at school. Sheree and Caren realized that food education was in need & not just for the children, but also, for the adults.

One thing for sure, is that the problem starts with the adults. A girlfriend of mine tried to get sugar parties taken out of her school system. Her daughter was coming home and having huge emotional sugar crashes and couldn’t focus because every day it was someone’s birthday party. When she brought this issue up for awareness she was literally shunned and castigated by the fellow parents! Geesh! That gives us a clue as to how emotional food is for us. And for me,

I need to be vigilant about what I am putting in my mouth and why

Slowly, over time, I’ve learned a lot about nutrition. I know now what my body needs and what it doesn’t. I have also learned that sometimes, even though I know that something isn’t great for me, I eat it anyway. Sigh. But the consequences no longer feel worth it. When I am mindful about my food, I am clear, focused and unruffled. I am living my Higher Self. And that feeling/being has become more important than covering up an uncomfortable feeling or running from my ego fears…

GVK finds it’s authentic self with Ira Israel

“You are perfect and there is room for improvement” is the Jack Kornfield quote that Ira Israel started off our conversation with on GVK!  Our topic was being your authentic self and it is Ira’s passion. His enthusiasm for helping his clients do exactly that was exciting to say the least! AND! he has an amazing new Beginners Guide To Meditation dvd that you must check out.

I got all revved up thinking about how

I had tried NOT to be me for such a long time,

because being me made people uncomfortable. Both Green Diva Megan and I know the struggles of having to find our way with being our authentic self. There are many different ways to jump onto your path to being your authentic self and Ira shared that DW Winnicott, the book Primal Scream, and Adam Grant’s Give And Take were in his top ten.

The best way to be your authentic self is to know who you are.  We cannot share our Light in the world if we don’t know what our light is. So often people tell us what they think is right for us, their hopes and their dreams and their desires. It is time to put all of that down and ask yourself who am I? Not what your parents hopes and dreams are for you or not the compromises you’ve made along the way to get you where you are now.  But, what are your dreams? What are your likes & dislikes? What do you love?  What do you hate? What sparks your soul with passion? Sit with yourself, ask these questions and start making a list. Find out who you are for you and then start on the path to becoming you.  The real you.  The Divine you.

My parents did not, did not, did not want me to go into acting.

I tried other things to make them happy, but, nothing in the world helped me express the bigness of what I felt as well as acting. So acting is where I focused myself for a long time. Then came the day that acting could no longer contain me. I came to realize that acting was not who I was, it was something that I did. It was a tool to facilitate who I was.

I know, today, that my authentic self is a catalyst. I lead people, organizations, situations into change. The people, places and things around me will change and that’s just the way it is. Being the catalyst is not always comfortable, but, it is who I am it is what I do. Instead of bemoaning this as I used to, I embrace my gift. I bring about positive change in all that I do ~ even in myself, because, as Ira said, I “follow my dharma”!

GVK delves into the unconscious

It was so refreshing to chat with Esther Bertram on GVK! She brings such rich thoughts and tools to the table to help us create a bridge from the subconscious to the conscious mind. Creative visualization is one of the more powerful tools she discusses with us.  She uses this tool to tap into the creative realm and co~create her reality.  One of my “bibles” when I began my spiritual quest was Creative Visualization by Skakti Gawain. I practiced at every free moment until it became second nature for me to “see” and create my life.

Esther’s desire to awaken humanity to it’s life creating powers has lead her to write an amazing augmented reality book. It follows a vegan orphan rock star and soul warrior, named November Fox,  who travels dimensions of time and consciousness to unlock the cube of self. Wow, talk about bridging the sub with the con of the mind!

Sigh, the subconscious mind…

for the longest time I didn’t even know that I had one!  Then when I did find out about it I started to fight with it. Today I move very differently ~

today I am at peace with my subconscious.

I came to understand that the information that my subconscious gives me is ancient.  Whether it’s ancient from my childhood or ancient from a past life, it was placed there long ago in situations that no longer resonate with my life. It was meant to protect me and I don’t need protection like that anymore. I’m no longer a child I do not live in the past life.

I co~create and manifest my life consciously today but before I could do that, I had understand what my subconscious was telling me.  And so I had to build that bridge that Megan and I talk about with Esther.  It takes practice, but, now I can ask myself, and

get a clear Divine answer

“is this feeling from the past?” “does this reaction have to do with the present?” “how am I truly feeling?” In the quiet, the Spirit world will always answer. Sometimes the answer comes with resounding power, but, most of the time, it is the small still voice from within that holds the key to Truth…
