GVK knows the Divine Self with Marsha Mason

marsha-mason-1-sized
Marsha Mason is the perfect example of being who you are, not being what you do! She has had many incarnations in this lifetime so far. She was a highly celebrated actress in Hollywood, then she was the owner of the Abiquiu Farm in New Mexico (where she learned about Biodynamic Farming), and now has the natural skincare product line ~ Resting In The River  Natural Products ~ from her work on that farm.

Marsha’s deep spiritual practice with Swami Muktananda and Gurumayi has brought her to knowing who she is on a Divine level

And that’s the goal isn’t it?  To know oneself through the eyes of the Divine. We desire to but be who we are and let that inform what we do. That was the hardest part for me!  And it was coming into a deep spiritual practice that showed me that above all, I am a spiritual being. There are different aspects of me that go into everything that I do, certainly.  And those things are pieces to the puzzle that is me.  I’ve had over 50 jobs in my life and in every single one of those jobs, I brought a different aspect of myself to the forefront. Even as a parent, I bring only aspects of myself forward.

I can now say that I am at peace with who I am and happy to bring that to what I do. For it is only with the Divine that I am I fully100% who I Am…

GVK gets into emotional eating

shutterstock_223243450-300x252Emotional eating ~ erg! Why do we do it? Wellllll, because we have emotions that we don’t have the tools to cope with! Even when I have all the tools, I sometimes just get
overwhelmed. Sheree Druskin and Caren Laboy of The Nutritious Moms have some great substitutes for us and really great ideas to help us move through the rough spots in life without sabbatoging ourselves with food that does not support us.

My kids are in their teen years and let me tell you, if I make it through this with my sanity in tact, I will consider myself blessed.  Not only is it painful to watch my kids maneuver around in the hormonal imbalances and emotional ups and downs, but, it brings my teen hood screaming to the surface! And these deep emotional things tend to propel me into emotional eating. The only way to move through it is with tools.  The tools help me heal myself and then become a positive mirror for them.

For a long time, those tools were all kinds of substances.

I thought that they would quell the  intensity of my feelings. They didn’t and so now I don’t. Then all of a sudden I realized that I was using food the same way that I used other things. Just trying to fill that empty hole in my soul. Sigh. The only way to fill that “hole” is with a spiritual practice. That can mean whatever you want it to mean, as long as it effects you in a positive nurturing way. Nature, self help groups, writing groups, 12 step groups, theology, yoga, empowerment seminars are just a few ways to follow a nurturing spiritual path and gathering healthy tools for life.

I walk a very deep spiritual path now ~ this path saved me from myself, from my own inner demons. There was no other answer for me, and that includes food as well.  Believe me, by the time I got to this understanding, I had tried Everything out there…xoK

GVK body series~ being present with your body

Your body is not just this thing that you can see and feel. It is actually much larger in it’s energetic field.  That energetic field sends out messages that hit people before they even get an arms length away from you! Do you realize that you are constantly interacting with other people even if you don’t talk to them? So, what are you saying to them about you? Are you awake to it or are you still sleeping?

At GVK we constantly talk about meditation.  When you take the quiet time to be with Spirit you will learn to see yourself from that perspective.  Once we experience ourselves in the Divine, a switch flips on and then you will have to work at turning it off.  And now that it is on, try experiencing your body as Divine.

It is time to consider not just what you can see about your body, but, what you energetically put out from that body. And more importantly what you are putting out with your mind.  It is time to be present with what your body needs.  And it is time to be aware of what you are saying to yourself about your body inside your head.  Because what you say about yourself is what you are energetically projecting into your world.  And what you project into your world is the universe that you are creating.  Every minute of every moment of your life.  You are in control, so take it to the next level!!

Try starting small.  Try just finding one thing about yourself that you absolutely love! There has to be at least one thing. Now focus on that thing and move out from there.  If there are things to change, goooo  s  l  o  w.  Take it one thing at a time.  If it is weight loss, find a method that is sustainable.  If it is health renewal, find the right practitioner to support your body and you mind and your spirit.  Change the paradigm of how you have been reacting to this body of yours into a place of responding to the messages that your are constantly receiving.  And most of all, Know that you are and deserve the love that supports your whole system of Being…

From our first breath to our final breath, we are managing our health. It is multifaceted and ever changing. From my own experiences I have come to believe that we must be our own advocates, we must be knowledgeable, and we must be open to different or non traditional forms of healing.

I have actually had several rebirths over the course of my life and I expect that there will be more. The first rebirth, and frankly, what I believe to be my resurrection, was when I stopped using drugs and alcohol to numb myself. The second rebirth was when I discovered energy work and became a LaHo~Chi practitioner. I have used traditional talk therapy, nutrition, energy work, exercise, meditation and creative expression to heal.

Being well is multifaceted and so, needs a broad approach. What worked last year for a nagging emotional issue, may not work this time around because of the layer that you are coming at it from.  I have discovered that the deeper the layer of healing, the more often I need to find a different approach (s). Some of my physical issues, have an emotional core and visa versa. Sugar is one of the ways that I manage deep feelings that feel overwhelming. Recently, my body has begun to reject that form of management and I am having to move to a more mindful practice around my feelings. Sigh. Really, that is all that I can say about it! It has not been so easy, this sugar thing.

However, as Mahara stated so beautifully, “I am not healed, but, I am Well.”  Yes, I am well and I continue to delve into wellness on every level. And I will state, for myself, that I rely on my Higher Self and All That Is to guide me, because without my spiritual practice, I am far from well…xoK
